Thank you performers, volunteers, and audience members who came out to support us and PCM this past Saturday. We hope that you enjoyed the night and got to know a little bit more about Parental Care Ministries. Without you all, the night would not have been the same. We appreciate all the support, prayers, and are so thankful to be a part of organizing this event. 

Please let us know what your thoughts are. We already have received some great feedback and know that  both good ideas and mistakes went into the show. We’re embracing it all and are just thankful for the chance to grow from this experience while hopefully bringing people together for a fun night. 

Many of the performers did a wonderful job! There were jump-ropers, amazing singers from all around Tyler, and dancers! Congratulations to all our winners and hope you all continue to do what you love! Please continue to keep in your thoughts and pray for one of the performers who broke his hand. 

In conclusion, the night raised $5410 for the kids in Uganda with the help of a matching donor. Thank you all for being a part of this year’s show!

As we near the finish, please pray for the show, the performers, and all who will be affected by this ministry. Also, please pray for the children’s choir for PCM as they are trying to receive their visas to come visit!

Please bring your family and friends to a great night! So many wonderful musicians, comedians, and dancers have tried out this year–we had such a hard time narrowing it down to 18 acts who will give a great show on October 20th!

Remember, the show is October 20th at 6:30pm at the Burgess Auditorium (University Blvd). We look forward to seeing you all there. Bring everyone you know to the show. Tyler’s Got Talent is on its way and there is just one change to take note of.

Due to some conflicts, we have changed our show date to October 20th. The time and place is the same: 6:30 pm at Burgess Auditorium.

Also, auditions will be the same date, September 15.

What does another year of Tyler’s Got Talent mean? 

After receiving feedback and praying about whether we would like to continue Tyler’s Got Talent, we decided to have another show in support of the community and Parental Care Ministries once again! This time, our goals are to (1) bring together a greater number of the Tyler and East Texas community and (2)help provide shoes and fill other needs for the children in PCM’s care, for over 1100 kids

The goal is high, but we know that great things have and will occur with a great God. We’re so thankful for Pastor Emmy, the Barrets and PCM team, and last year’s event and we look forward to another great year! 

Here are a few things you need to know:

The show date is October 6, 2012 at Burgess Auditorium (University Blvd) at 6:30 pm. The show will feature 15-18 performances by people of the East Texas community of any age! Audition date: Sept. 15. Auditions can be submitted by live audition at the Burgess Audititorium or by emailed video (tylertalent@gmail.com).

There is also a change in awards this year. This year, three sets of awards will be given: Judges’ Pick, People’s Choice (audience voting), and Special Awards (Best Dressed, Most Entertaining, Loudest Fans, Most Outrageous/Creative. Judges’ Pick and People’s Choice will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place with prizes of $200, $100, and $50, respectively. Special Award winners will win gift cards, and all performers will receive a gift.

Thank you for your prayers and support! We hope to have another wonderful, family event and help PCM and their children in any way possible. Thank you!

Thank you, God, for all that you provided through the audience, performers, volunteers, and sponsors!

From talking with many of you all, we’re so glad to know that Nov. 5th’s event was a great experience. We want to thank you all for coming and supporting. Performers, you all were amazing and we could not have done this without you. What a great group to talk with and watch!

There are really so many people to thank for encouraging and helping pull this together…and know that we are very grateful for all that was given!

So the official total raised at the event is… $6929.56! And with the last additional gifts, donations at the event, and sponsor donations, $8,729.56. So the grand total after our matching donor would come to an astounding $15, 729.56!

This is far above we had ever dreamed of…and God has really provided for His children. Our original goal was to provide for the 700+ children there with uniforms but we now (after being informed that PCM now takes care of 1000 orphans!) have enough to give at least 1000 uniforms/clothes and additional resources to their ministry. With joy, we thank you and thank Him! With or without the end result, we personally enjoyed the challenge and journey.

What started in Parental Care Ministries and sparking in us a mere thought, grew by God’s hand into something that blew us away!

A few things:

PERFORMERS!
Get pumped and ready to perform this Saturday the 5th at the Burgess Auditorium! We need to know for sure what you are singing/performing, additional props, and any corrections on personal info. Be in the band hall by 3:30 pm on Saturday unless we contact you otherwise.

AUDIENCE!
It is up to you to decide who will win the first three places! Cheer, encourage your friends and all who are performing, and vote. There will be a vote by dropping money/bills into buckets at the end of each performance.

VOLUNTEERS!
We really need your help! If you know anyone who would love to volunteer for this community service event or has nothing to do this Sat., tell them to contact us at tylertalent@gmail.com. We need people to help with setting up, passing buckets around, and helping the show run smoothly.
